In the off-limits tea-houses
the story-tellers are adding
mythicized names to the tall-tale
of invaders of Afghanistan:
from Sikandar (Alexander) to
Macnaughten, Elphinstone,
Pavlovski, Nawroz, as
McChrystal, their latest addition,
stands at the tail-end of history,
his tall-tale barely beginning.
