NEXT CASE, PLEASE

by Jan Keough

"Dutchman to do crime scene walk-through in Peru" (AP)

That girl in Aruba, Holloway, and then another
down in Peru, snuffed and gone
and the hunt for
so many girls hidden in trash bins
dumped somewhere
never on
a network or screamed across a newspaper . . .
but god, another girl-woman-victim
and another suspect who walks away.

i don’t want justice
i want it to stop.
i know
it won’t.
