CHICKEN LITTLE

by Jean Thurston Liebert

“The sky is falling!” he cried as he ran.
Panic spread quickly across the land.
Paul Ryan assured him it wasn’t so.
He would use a little ‘Sleight-of-hand.’

                                                Entitlements had to go.
                                                Social Security and Medicare
Cost more than we could bear.
He would put an end to this nightmare.

Soon Chicken Little will have vouchers galore.
Privatization will be here to stay.
My advice to all chickens I know:
Stay alert.  Your vouchers are next to go.
