DARK NIGHTS

by Lynnie Gobeille

Dark nights descending
Slanted light illuminates
Bullets ricochet

Each man states his truth
Means to justify their lies
Smoke and ashes fly.

Questioning their story
Trusting is required now
Storms toss our beliefs

Heroes emerging.
