AMERICAN CENTRIFUGE

by Brendan Cooney

'In an interview on Friday with The Washington Post, Trump made his inclinations clear:
“The best thing politically is to let Obamacare explode.”'
The Washington Post, March 24, 2017

At least if your house is bombed,
you can see the rubble.
You can sit on it and wail.
You know who did it.
Forever after, you can bend
your story around
and then my house was bombed,
and everyone will get it.

Those of the slow fade
have none of that.
Only a diminuendo
hard to explain,
with no one to blame.
The depleted,
what can they say?
Everyone moved away.
