by Christine Piatek
Nature in its resilience and beauty
flies in the face of evil
and tethers to us hope that change
is possible even when,
day by day,
by cruelty, careless words, sheer indifference,
change looks impossible.
This is resistance.
I choose nature.
I choose the tethers it offers.
I choose hope.
I choose the possible.
